National Trends and Services

The VISION of the National Trends and Services facet is to eliminate disparities by reducing barriers to services through advocacy, education, and service. Our MISSION is to empower our chapters to effectively empower the communities in which we work. Our GOALS include increasing the number of sustainable and measurable programs; increasing collaborative partnerships; and extending our existing initiatives to include communities identified as having the greatest need.

The Northern Indiana Chapter of The Links, Incorporated is committed to providing services where needed in our community. We are linking to impower our citizens through voting and completing the 2020 Census. We also partner with our local NAACP and Urban League of Northwest Indiana to GOTV and the 2020 Census.

Below you will find a few of the projects/events we have recently contributed to with donations and hands on involvement.

The LINK UP THE VOTE National initiative has gone mobile.   In an effort to impact more citizens to vote, The LINK UP THE VOTE initiative can be seen on two buses traveling throughout our community. The Northern Indiana Chapter of the Links partnered with the Gary Public Transportation Corporation to promote and encourage citizens to go to the polls and vote on May 5, 2024 in the Primary Election and on November 5, 2024 in the General Election.

The National Trends and Services Facet led by Link Vaughan Pritchett, chair and Link Leslie Moore, co-chair came up with this voter mobilization idea to put the Links National vote initiative on the side of a bus. Now, our The LINK UP THE VOTE message will have more visibility and will reach more citizens to get out and go vote.  Our Voice, Our Vote, Our Power. Every vote counts!!
